Surveyor / Service Engineer, based in Harlow

 

Full-Time. £35-40k Basic, Bonus, Pension & Benefits

Daylight work with Developers and Architects across the UK, supplying Architectural and Structural glazing packages for residential and commercial build projects. Working closely with our clients, we steer them through the maze of options that best suit their budget, specification and most importantly, their vision.  We source from multiple Aluminium, Timber and PVC fabricators and work with work in partnership with them and their manufacturers to maximise opportunities with clients and deliver a complete end-to-end service.

Job Detail:

This is a unique opportunity for a talented candidate who is passionate about their work to join a rapidly growing business and a welcoming team based in Harlow. You will work on a wide variety of interesting and diverse project.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the purpose of this role is to provide detailed survey capability across our projects and support the remedial servicing that is required from time to time.

The successful candidate will need to be highly numerate, able to communicate confidently with customers by phone, email and in person and be responsive to the varied demands on the business.  Strong technical knowledge of glazing systems is critical together with good people skills.

A strong focus on accuracy and good timekeeping are also required to ensure customers receive their survey details / remedial service requirements within deadlines and in accordance with their specific project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit site to take detailed aperture and other measurements, documenting them for client sign off.
  • Ensure that the final survey meets customer expectations and is aligned with the contract
  • Carry out or manage the completion of remedial works as and when these may be required.
  • Asses the installation to determine how many days on site are required.
  • Identify and specific site issues and recording them on survey form
  • Make a record of what sills, vents, trims, pressings and other materials are required
  • Sign off 3rd party installer work
  • To fully understand client specification
  • To ensure compliance with building regs
  • To identify other factors from site which could affect installation
  • To liaise with operations / technical whenever required

Key skills

  • Five years surveying windows, doors, structural gazing – together with the ability to interpret client requirements so that they get the installation that meets their vision.
  • Five Years Install / remedial experience – together with the ability to problem solve and remedy issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Considerate – together with the ability to be patient, informative and polite
  • Passionate about your work and the standards you deliver
  • Communication skills – the ability to give & follow instructions in a calm, professional manner with consideration for others
  • Organisational skills – the role will require the individual to be organised and use initiative with the ability to prioritise workload. It is essential to be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment in order to meet deadlines.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK and residing near Harlow
  • MTC Surveyor Qualification required
  • CSCS Card
  • NVQ Level 3
  • Able to give and receive feedback and constructive criticism from a variety of channels
